The Burning Wheel Allies with Dungeon World

BWG_cover_r6_cropWe here at Burning Wheel Headquarters are proud and excited to announce that as of January 1, 2016, we have become the official publisher of Dungeon World and its future supplements. We are honored to be hosting the most popular indie roleplaying game of the past few years, and looking forward to the ventures ahead. This partnership only strengthens the professional relationship we’ve shared with Dungeon World and our personal quest to bring fans quality games that not only entertain but also ignite players’ creative perspective! Dungeon World will now share the shelf with the Burning Wheel Fantasy Roleplaying System, Torchbearer, Burning Empires and FreeMarket.

We humbly (and enthusiastically) welcome Sage La Torra and Adam Koebel to Burning Wheel HQ!

Adam says, “As a couple of very busy nerds, it made a ton of sense for Sage and I to partner up with the Burning Wheel to publish and distribute Dungeon World. Luke, Thor, Dro and company have been at this a long time and are consummate pros. Everyone on the entire internet knows how much I love their work. I can think of nobody I trust more to help us usher in a new era of dungeon adventure than our heavy metal brothers and sisters at Burning Wheel HQ.”

DW cover“Dungeon World wouldn’t exist without Luke, Thor, Dro, and everyone at BWHQ. We’ve learned a lot from them on how to publish, so we’re excited to team up and share the load of keeping our book in print. They’re the folks I trust to be just as passionate about our books as we are and help make sure they get to everyone. I’m excited to worry less about stock and printing and more about making new stuff,” sayeth Sage La Torra.

“Over the past few years, I’ve worked hard to build a small infrastructure around Burning Wheel HQ. We’ve ironed out our bookkeeping, fulfillment and, most recently, project management. Now that we have all of those elements working together, it just felt right to offer to help out Sage and Adam,” says Burning Wheel publisher, Luke Crane. “And now we have two of the best fantasy RPGs ever made under one roof. This is going to be great for us, Adam, Sage and all of our fans. We’re going to keep Dungeon World in print and we’re going to publish more great stuff together as a team!”

About Burning Wheel
Luke Crane is the founder of Burning Wheel Headquarters. Here, we publish the Burning Wheel Fantasy Roleplaying System, Burning Empires and Torchbearer. We have also designed and written other games like Mouse Guard and FreeMarket.
Burning Wheel is a fantasy roleplaying game first published in 2002. Since then, the game and its supplements have gone on to win critical notoriety, a handful of awards and respect from the RPG community. In 2011, we published the latest edition, Burning Wheel Gold. There are 9000 copies of the current edition of Burning Wheel in print, but over 18

,000 copies of the game overall. There are three supplements for Burning Wheel: the Monster Burner, the Magic Burner and the Adventure Burner. There are also two setting books, Jihad — an homage to Dune — and The Blossoms Are Falling — an historic setting for Heian Era Japan.

About Dungeon World
Dungeon World is an award-winning tabletop roleplaying game by Sage La Torra and Adam Koebel. “Dungeon World’s simple rules happen based on what’s happening within the game, so you spend more time talking about the action and less time talking about the rules.” Dungeon World has won an Ennie for Best Rules, a Golden Geek for Best RPG, and an Indie RPG Award. The text of Dungeon World is released under a Creative Commons Attribution license. You can make, distribute, and even sell anything you like based on Dungeon World.
