Character Description - Ben is tall, thin, and combines a look of exhaustion with an aura of barely contained power. His hair, which he wears well past his shoulders and tied back, is auburn and curly, and his eyes are piercingly blue. He wears tinted glasses, and the loose fitting, utilitarian red robes and round silver amulet that mark a graduate wizard of the Mage's Academy of Barthone. His face settles naturally into a mix of bemused interest and smirking amusement, which gives him the appearance of knowing more than he's letting on, no matter what he's actually thinking. This, his lack of motivation, his astounding skill, and his habit of sarcastically mocking most anyone who doesn't keep up with him, has resulted in a number of skirmishes in bars, classrooms, and indeed wherever he goes.
Ben is just two years out of the Academy, and hasn't yet seen a reason to leave Barthone. As the city is the center of damn near everything in the Seren Protectorate, Ben figures that anything interesting will either happen there or reach there eventually. He's also found that it's a lot easier [and cheaper] to use the Academy's facilities instead of buying his own. His apartment is on the same square as both the Grand Bazaar and the south gate of the Academy, and from this vantage Ben continues his constant quest to find interesting things to do.
