Burning Wheel Lifepath Changes
I think the Seafarer lifepaths work mostly fine. Weather Witch, Artillerist, Engineer, and Ship's Chaplain are out.
Peasant, Village, City, servitude and Captive, and Soldier are mostly right to me. soldier will most likely have parts split into City and political sub setting since Sparta was nearly the only one with a devoted military. Stuff like Artillerist, any sourcerours, duelist, and Town Guard ones or out or need some modification. One trouble is the Greeks used a lot of slaves and considered many jobs shameful (especially in Athens) since the citizen was to devout his life to the betterment of his city. For younger days Athlete, Student of Philosophy, Apprenticeships.
Outcast: I'm not sure if whoremonger and prostitute are outcast setting or just lower class City. Probably not outcast as hetaerae and none slave prostitutes could be of some note. I probably won't bother with this too much.
Ranks and structure
The highest rank in the 4th century ancient Greece of Athens was the stratigos. 10 were elected, one form each tribe, for a period of 1 year and they could be reelected each year. At the end of the term they were sent before a court of citizens to give account of all they had done. This added to the frequent prosecution of the generals. The next level were the 3 archons. They were The Assembly elected the strategoi and could do so year after year. The Assembly could also remove, fine, exile, or condemn to death any straregos or archon.

Political
Athens politics in our period was a democracy where no one was to be above anyone else. It was anti-professional in that you were expected to learn by attending and positions were often assigned by lot from a group of volunteers and limited to a period of 1-2 years with no second terms.
