Concept
Undead linked to an evil blade, burning with a need for vengence. This particular one was an assassin in life.
History
A Blade Revenant is an entity of vengence, created with dark sorceries and a Shriz’xyx (Darkclaw). Only those who died with a burning desire for vengence may be thus animated. In life, Clymenestra was from a noble family of the Kingdom of Cenobia. When she was young, her house was destroyed after being scapegoated for a failed plot. Only she survived the destruction. She fled, returning years later under an assumed name.
She infiltrated noble society, while building a reputation as the assassin of nobles Clymenestra. Within 5 years, any survivors of those who scapegoated her family were dead.
Several years later, an assassin named Thaumus accused both her and another assassin (her lover) of killing a certain merchant, resulting in the death of the other assassin. Clymenestra thus set out to bring Thaumus before all the assassins of the city for judgement.
But Thaumus had unwisely made a deal with Icarus (unbeknownst to him a Rakhasha), who turned the fight in Thaumus' favor when they met. Sensing the burning hatred within her, he chose to raise her with the Shriz’xyx he had found years earlier.
And so she was raised, with a hatred for Thaumus, he who raised her, and all nobles.
Notes
From the original stats to those of the Blade Revenant, Clymenestra gained +2 Will, +2 Perception, +1 Speed and +2 Forte, losing all traits and gaining those listed. A different Blade Revenant would gain similar stats, though that may be linked to the specific Shriz’xyx that created them.
